2015 Ducati Hypermotard SP

2015 Ducati Hypermotard SP

The attendants at the World Ducati Week in Misano, Italy have got a special treat in the shape of the first public appearance of the 2015 Ducati Hypermotard SP, the most savage of the Hypermotard family, shows in an all-new livery for the new model year.

The 2015 Hypermotard SP is a zero-compromise naked beast created and engineered for experienced riders. To stress out this feature even more, Ducati chose two iconic figures for the unveiling of the new supermoto machine: three-time World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss and the 2011 WSBK king, Carlos Checa. The event took place at the International Village of the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit paddocks.

Riders will be thrilled to throw a leg over the 110 hp bike powered by the proven Testastretta 11° 821 cc engine loaded in the iconic tubular trellis frame, one of the Borgo Panigale trademark signatures. The engine borrows the multi-map architecture form the 1199 Panigale S, with a three-mode selection available by means of a push button: Race 110 hp (HIGH), Sport 110 hp (MEDIUM) and Wet 75 hp (LOW). The Panigale also served as the foundation for deriving a new Ducati Safety pack comprising a 3-level ABS and 8-level Traction Control system.

Longer travel suspensions carefully tuned for true supermoto performance, with a Marzocchi USD fork complemented by an Öhlins rear shock unit. Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tires have been chosen for this bike, alongside other premium features, such as the variable-diameter bars, carbon fiber fenders and engine cover guards, a radial brake pump and 5-way adjustable lever and a special seat.

The 2015 Ducati Hypermotard SP tips the scale at 171 kg (377 lbs) and will be available in this new, Ducati Corse-inspired livery in September, with no price modifications from the previous version. In Europe, the bike equipped with a restrictor kit will be offered at no extra cost over the standard one.
